Tools for Inclusion – Applying the UNESCO WWAP Gender Toolkit
The WWAP Gender Toolkit provides practical tools for generating sex- and ethnicity-disaggregated water data. Within the CMDA project, these tools are being applied to:
-
Collect gender- and ethnicity-disaggregated data during field surveys and the TDA process.
-
Apply gender-responsive indicators in project monitoring and evaluation.
-
Support the participation of women, Indigenous Peoples, and ethnic minorities in consultations and decision-making forums.
By applying these tools, CMDA ensures that transboundary groundwater governance is scientifically sound and socially equitable.
The Cambodia–Mekong River Delta Aquifer (CMDA) Project is a Global Environment Facility (GEF) International Waters initiative implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and led by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as Lead Executing Agency, with UNESCO and MERFI as Executing Partners, in collaboration with the Governments of Viet Nam and Cambodia.
